Welcome to BattleReps

Welcome to the battlerep blog, as the name suggest this blog was created to share battle reports of games of warhammer fantasy and of warhammer 40k.

I'll try to post as many Battle reps as possible, of games that I play or games that I see.
If you are into wargaming and want to contribute to this blog just send me an e-mail with your battle reports to: battlereps@gmail.com

The report must contain the following:

- Name of the opposing armies
- Number of points of each army
- Number of turns
- Movements each turn
- Final result (outcome)

The report may contain:

- Fluff behind the battle (why the battle took place / small background history of the armies / etc...)
- Army lists
- Pictures of the armies / turns
- Diagram showing troop movement

You should also include your nickname so I can post who sent the report.

Dwarfs vs Vampire Counts 1500 point battle

Dwarfs Deployment
(from left to right)
Bolt Thrower with Engineer and Master Engineer
Cannon
10 Thunderers with shield
10 Warriors with great weapon
20 Longbeards (Shield, full command, led by Thane)
15 Iron Breakers (Shield, full command, led by runesmith)
Gyrocopter
Vampire Counts Deployment (from left to right)
Varghulf
18 Grave Guard (Full command, BSB and general in unit)
20 Skeletons (Full command, shield)
19 Skeletons (Full command, shield, led by vampire)

Dwarf turn 1
Gyrocopter moves up the field at full speed. Iron Breakers, Long Beards and Warriors march up the field to set a new battle line by the side of the hill.
The cannon crew aimed for the BSB in the Grave Guard unit but the scatter decided to give me a overshot missing the unit. The Bolt Thrower crew also aimed for the Grave Guard, this time for the general, but I rolled a 1. Finally the thunderers were out of range so their guns were kept quiet.

Vampire Counts Turn 1
All units march forward. Magic was kept under control by the runelord which was able to contain all of the spells cast.

Dwarfs turn 2
Again the Dwarfs Iron Breakers, Longbeards and warriors moved forward. The Gyrocopter moved to the flank of the skeleton unit to get a better firing position.
The cannon crew once again over shot the intended target, but this time the Master Engineer crewing the Bolt Thrower made the right calculations and caused two wounds on the Varghulf. The gyrocopter and the thunderers opened fire on the same unit, the gyro killed 6 skeletons out of a possible 9 and the thunderers caused 3 more wounds.

Vampire Counts turn 2
All of the army marched forward except the unit of skeletons led by the vampire which were unable to move because the Gyrocopter was march blocking.
This time the runesmith was unable to stop all of the spells and the vampire managed to raise 6 skeletons on his own unit.

Dwarf turn 3
The Longbeards and Iron Breakers moved forwards towards the enemy.
The gyrocopter kept on harassing the skeleton unit, killing three more skeletons, while the Bolt Thrower took another two wounds from the Varghulf, killing it. The cannon crew finally got a hit on the Grave guard, Killing two of them and the Thunderers killed two skeletons from the unit near the gyrocopter.

Vampire Counts turn 3
Once again the undead horde moved forward. The skeletons on my left flank wheeled to approach the hill at an angle and the Grave Guard turned 90º to follow the Skeletons. On my right flank the skeletons attempted a charge, but as they were out of range they had to move normally.
in this magic phase the Vampires successfully raised a unit of zombies behind my Longbeards and the remaining Power Dices were used to fill the ranks of the new unit.

Dwarfs turn 4
Longbeards begin the turn by attempting to charge the skeletons ahead, but they were too far away. the Iron Breakers were repositioned so the could protect the longbeards from a rear charge and the Warriors turned 90º to face the flank of the Zombies.
In the shooting phase the cannon killed three Grave guards and the Bolt Thrower killed two skeletons. The Thunderers killed another two skeletons. Finally the Gyrocopter killed six skeletons.

Vampire Counts turn 4
The zombies charged my warriors, and incredibly the fled in fear and crashed against the stones on the hill behind them. The skeletons led by the Vampire charged my Longbeards.
In the magic phase one of the fallen Grave Guard was raised and nothing else happened.
Finally close combat saw my Thane slaying the Vampire and the longbeards beating the living crap out of the skeletons, those that weren't killed crumbled.

Dwarfs turn 5
Iron Breakers charged the Zombies. The Longbeards moved forward and the gyrocopter moved behind enemy lines and shot at the skeleton unit.
The Bolt Thrower shot at the Grave Guard and killed a further two guards, the cannon killed one Skeleton and another two grave guards. The Gyrocopter killed a further seven skeletons. Last but not least the Thunderers inflicted one wound on the Grave Guard.
The Zombies were destroyed by the Iron Breakers.

Vampire Counts turn 5
Skeletons Charged the Thunderers, three of them were killed because the thunderers stood their ground and shoot.
Th e Grave Guard moved forward, out of range of the Bolt Thrower.
During the magic phase the vampire managed to raise six Grave Guard. but while attempting to cast a second spell the caster was hit by a chaos daemon with no armor saves, fortunately for him he had ward save and regeneration (he missed ward, got regeneration) and the magic level of the vampire decreased from two to one.
The skeletons lost close combat against the thunderers and were destroyed.

Dwarfs turn 6
The turn begun with the Gyrocopter moving to the flank of the grave guard, the Iron Breakers and the Longbeards turned 90º to face the Grave guard.
In the shooting phase all weapons opened fire on the Grave Guard, all of the weapons combined took eight wounds from the Grave Guard.

Vampire Counts turn 6
Nothing much happened this turn, all of the Dwarfs were out of range and all of the spells were dispelled. All there was left for the Grave Guard to do was to stand their ground and claim one quarter.

Outcome

Dwarfs won by massacre with only one unit lost (stupid impassable terrain *grumble, grumble, grumble*)
